The site has been labeled an "ecological disaster".
Journalist visited the scene and reported the heap appeared to be "six meters tall at least".

Fly-tippers have dumped a massive amount of garbage in a rural area in Oxfordshire.

The "environmental crisis developing in plain sight" is around 150m (490ft) long and 6m (20ft) in height.

The huge pile has appeared in a open area next to the River Cherwell in the vicinity of Kidlington.

A local MP brought up the situation in parliament, declaring it was "posing risk of an environmental disaster".

Protection organization stated the unlawful waste site was established about a recently by an criminal network.

"This is an environmental crisis developing in plain sight.

"Every day that passes raises the risk of hazardous run-off entering the waterways, contaminating fauna and threatening the wellbeing of the whole river basin.

"The Environment Agency must respond now, not in extended periods, which is their standard action timeframe."

A restriction order had been implemented by the Environment Agency.

It is challenging to recognize any particular pieces of waste as it appears to have been broken up with dirt mixed in.

A portion of the garbage from the top of the mound has toppled and is now only five metres from the stream.

The River Cherwell is a branch of the River Thames, which means it flows through Oxford before connecting with the Thames.

The MP asked the authorities for help to clear the illegal tip before it resulted in a blaze or was washed away into the river system.

Addressing MPs on recently, he declared: "Lawbreakers have dumped a mountain of unlawful synthetic materials... amounting to hundreds of tonnes, in my constituency on a floodplain adjacent to the River Cherwell.

"Stream volumes are increasing and heatmaps indicate that the garbage is also warming, increasing the risk of blaze.

"The Environment Agency stated it has inadequate capabilities for enforcement, that the estimated cost of removal is larger than the complete yearly funding of the municipal authority."

Government official commented the administration had assumed responsibility for a struggling disposal business that had created an "growing issue of illegal dumping".

She advised representatives the agency had issued a prohibition notice to prevent further entry to the area.

In a announcement, the organization stated it was looking into the situation and asked for information.

It commented: "We share the citizens' concern about occurrences like this, which is why we respond against those culpable for waste crime."

A recently published study found initiatives to address major environmental offenses have been "severely under-prioritised" despite the problem developing into bigger and more complex.

Government advisors suggested an autonomous "root and branch" inquiry into how "endemic" illegal dumping is addressed.
