The former Liverpool manager says a return to lead Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that returning someday is a possibility. Klopp, post a game-changing nine-year spell featuring Champions League success and the Reds’ first league title since 1990, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and as an advisor to Germany's league body.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the league title last season, though countless followers who adore the manager would be thrilled by the notion of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he explained to his interviewer: “I said I won't manage a different club on English soil. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. In theory, it could happen.”

“I’m 58, which suggests I could make the decision down the line, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on which situations would need to occur to draw him back to the touchline, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “No longing for management; I avoid standing in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip media briefings multiple times weekly or constant media duties each week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, however, dining out with the team having a nice chat, is pleasant. We won a lot of games meaning regularly great spirits in the building. I can still hear Van Dijk's laughter in my ear to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the adjustments that took the title last campaign. The team has suffered four in a row in all competitions following significant transfers, though he denied the suggestion of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. The French striker, excellent performer. This is a well-built well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, a 2020 acquisition during his tenure, along with the consequences at the club. The forward died tragically in a vehicle collision alongside his brother in July.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his footballing ability, it's his character. It's hard to picture the dressing room absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad too. No one within the club might employ it to justify results yet it's the reality. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Dealing with that emotionally is difficult. Unbearable.”
